How
do you like that??
That’s how the first buckwheat experience of my
love looked like (the way he preferred it*). Thus, the first
buckwheat feast included buckwheat kasha** (of course) with tiny
cubes of guava and raisins added to it, roasted sunflower seeds (they
are an integral part of any dish in fact), banana slices and honey.
Mmmmmm…Not bad, heh?
Swap
honey for guava syrup and get an absolutely vegan meal.
Some buckwheat info.
This
redolent gift of the Mother Earth, although having “wheat” in its
name, is not a grain technically, being seeds of a flowering plant.
Therefore, buckwheat does not contain gluten, but!! accommodates a
great amount of iron, antioxidants, such minerals and vitamins as
niacin, copper, zinc, manganese, potassium and rutin that helps
improve blood circulation and does not allow cholesterol to block
blood vessels.

Ishmael is always quite creative at giving a dish his personal zest,
enriching it with ingredients..

In this case kasha is buckwheat cooked (boiled) on water (just add
twice as much water)
